Q: What does PamLytics do?
A: PamLytics collects Skype data from specific users with the objective to provide a full activity monitoring solution. All transactions of Skype activities (audio calls, video calls, group calls, single and group chats, SMS, balance history) are logged to the server. Note that PamLytics does not collect any content of Skype activities for privacy reasons!

Q: What type of Skype activity does PamLytics collect?
A: PamLytics collects all Skype call related activity like single calls, conference calls, calls to land line or mobile numbers and video calls. Skype Chat information is also collected as well as SMS. File transfers are not monitored, this is planned for a future release.

Q: Is PamLytics safe to use?
A: Yes, PamLytics is offered by the same people who created PamFax and Pamela, the most successful Skype add-ons available. The technology of PamLytics is based on the experience of our existing products and was built specifically with business users in mind. All data is transferred encrypted. The platform itself is protected as well as regularly checked. Only an administrator of PamLytics is able to control the system, and requires access to a user’s computer to be able to collect information.

Q: Is PamLytics legal?
A: First check if you are allowed to collect data from your users. Most companies have this as part of the standard work contract or other agreements. As a local application must be installed on each computer you wish to collect data from, an administrator must have access to the computer. Without this, nothing can be tracked.

Q: Is PamLytics SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliant?
A: Currently PamLytics is partially SOX compliant because only events are recorded. We plan to add the ability to store data, with which PamLytics will be SOX compliant.

Q: What happens to my data when I close my PamLytics account?
A: Upon account cancellation all data is deleted for privacy reasons. You are able to export selected data prior to deleting your account with us.

Q: Can I define who has access to the PamLytics Portal?
A: Yes, PamLytics provides admin login management where you can define who is able to access the Portal to view data, reports, export, etc.

Q: What reporting functions are available?
A: In the PamLytics Portal you will see list and chart based reports. Some can be configured with filtering options. We call these widgets. You may define which widgets are shown on the Portal page. These are saved and after logging in you will see them.

Q: How can I export data?
A: PamLytics provides an export option per widget as CSV or XLS. Charts can be exported in a few general formats.

Q: Which Skype versions are supported by PamLytics?
A: Currently PamLytics only supports Skype for Windows. Later we plan to add support for Skype for OS X and Linux.
